Getting around


From Ghent center to Eurocities conference venue, De Bijloke

By foot

  • You can discover some beautiful parts of Ghent by foot. Maps (pedestrian map) will be available at registration.
  • Walking from 'Ghent Sint Pieters' railway station to the 'Korenmarkt' takes 30 minutes. From the center of Ghent (Korenmarkt) it is only a 15 minutes walk to the conference site 'Bijloke'. The journey goes along the waterside and shows you a charming view of Ghent.
  • Walking from 'Ghent Sint Pieters' railway station to the conference site 'Bijloke' takes 15 minutes.

By bicycle

  • The easiest way to explore Ghent is by bike. Ghent is a city for cyclists, has 382 kilometers of bike paths and has one of the largest pedestrian zones in Europe.
  • The conference site is only 6 minutes away from the 'Korenmarkt' (Ghent center) by bicycle.
  • A bike needs to be pre-reserved during registration. Maps of the inner-city will be available.

By boat

  • With the 'Leie' situated in the inner-city, you can also use an electric boat to displace yourself.
  • Free shuttles will be provided on the following moments between the city center and the conference site, the boattrip takes about 20 minutes:
    • Thursday 28 November:
      • From Korenlei to Bijlokekaai: departure at 8.00, 8.15 and 8.30
    • Friday 29 November:
      • From Korenlei to Bijlokekaai: departure at 8.30, 9.00 and 9.30

By tram

  • Line Tram 1:
    • Stop: 'Van Nassaustraat' - walk 200m to 'Bijloke' site
    • Every 4 minutes
  • Line Tram 4: from 'Railway station Gent Sint-Pieters' - direction 'Moscou'
    • Stop: 'Bijlokehof' - walk 350m to 'Bijloke' site
    • Every 6 minutes

By taxi
