Nine families joined forces to find city housing with a green space. Together, they bought an old school near the Dampoort area. They soon converted the playground into a communal garden. In the meantime, they divided up the surrounding buildings and transformed them into low-energy homes using a heat pump system. There now is a hip café on the street side. The large garden is the only area shared by everyone. The rest - cooking, washing and eating - is done separately by each family.
